7 Warning Signs That You Chose The Wrong Juicer

So, you've read how juicing can be beneficial and you want to start. It's so easy to just rush to the nearest appliance store and buy the first juicer you see. You may think, "It's a juicer, don't they all do the same thing?"

You can ask the salespeople there, but they (sadly) usually don't know a whole lot about the products on their shelves. After picking one, you end up going home, imagining what a great new experience you will have with your brand new juicer, only to end up frustrated because it's not what you imagined it to be. You may even want to return your juicer because you feel you purchased the wrong one.

What a bummer! But don't be too hard on yourself. You're not the first one to make this mistake. However, are you really sure that you bought the wrong one?

Check your juicer against this list here to see if you have in fact, made a wrong move, or if you just need a little more practice.

You have made a wrong move:

1. If the juicer you bought is not made for the fruits or vegetables that you have in mind. You see, there are different kinds of juicers. There are juicers specifically made for citrus fruits, fruits and vegetables (soft: like berries and bananas, etc. and hard: coconuts, celery, broccoli, etc.), and herbs (wheatgrass). You won't be able to yield the maximum amount of juice from a fruit if you have a juicer that is built for herbs. You'll either yield so little juice that it practicality would be an issue or you'll break your juicer. You can always buy a multi-purpose juicer, but some won't be able to give you as much yield as one that has a specific function would.

2. If you're having trouble cleaning your juicer. It's important to keep your juicer cleaned after using it. There is a good chance that the pulp will be difficult to remove, so your juicer should have easily removable parts for those hard to reach areas. It should have a tool with it that you can use in removing those parts, especially the blade.

3. If it's hard to maintain.Your juicer should be easy to assemble. It's one thing to have ease in dismantling the juicer, especially if you're to clean it, but it's another thing if it's easy to put it all back together.

You also have to consider the pulp catcher. It should be located on the outside part of the juicer and must have a large opening for easy scooping and easy cleaning. Some pulp catchers are located on the inside the middle part of the juicer, and that would mean that you will have to interrupt the juicing when the pulp starts to accumulate.

4. If your juicer is noisy.Of course, you wouldn't want a juicer that is so noisy that it would sound like something was being butchered in your kitchen. Since most people will usually use their juicer in the morning, it's best to buy one that won't disturb everyone else in the house.

5. If the size of the opening(the chute)is not large enough.A juicer should save you from the hassle of having to chop up fruits and veggies into small pieces just to be able to fit in the chute. A large chute also says something about its motor because this means it can still juice even large chunks of fruits or vegetables.

6. If it gives a small yield. Your juicer should be able to make the most out of your fruits and vegetables. If it can only give a quarter of the amount of juice compared to the size of the food, then it really is the wrong choice. With a bad juicer, you'll probably need a pound of apples before you can have a glass of apple juice and that's just a waste. You can also tell if potential juice is being lost if the pulp is still wet and juicy. You have to make sure that your juicer produces dry pulp, so you can be sure that no juice goes to waste.

7. If it takes too much space. Your juicer (especially for personal use at home) should be large enough to do the job, but also small enough to fit into a small space in your cupboard or countertop.

The key in choosing the right juicer is convenience. People buy a juicer so they can enjoy having fresh juice any time they feel like it. Now, if the juicer that you've bought (or are still eyeing) takes too much work then maybe it's the wrong one.

Read Juicer Ratings and Reviews

A good practice to do before buying would be to search online and read different juicer ratings and reviews to give you a better idea about what to expect from different types of juicers. You just have to make sure that the website you choose is not biased.

Find out if the review site is made by the juicer's manufacturer or if the website accepts incentives for doing their review. Websites like these only aim to sell their product, so, it's most probable that you won't see a fair review there. A real review site should be able to provide you with complete information about the product including advantages and disadvantages.

Another important thing to consider is the opinions of other people that have used the product you are thinking of buying. If the percentage of satisfied customers is much higher than those who disliked it then that product might be just what you are looking for.
